Ending 2018 and beginning 2019 preaching JESUS

We had our yearly SOAPA conference in Las Vegas and this event is coupled with preaching nighty on the streets of Vegas. At the convention we had Christian shirts, hoodies,

hats, Bibles, banners, signs to help promote the kingdom of God, we also had free bumper stickers and tracts

Every session was started off with prayer and a reading from ‘Martyrs Mirror’ a history book of the early Church and a must read to judge the Church or ministry you fellowship with.

The saints were edified as those seated aged from over 70 years to under 10 years old.

We had a live-fed on my facebook page but facebook decided it was too offensive and shut my page down for 30 days.

We had another ministry deliver food so we fed the homeless and prayed with them during our breaks, some even stayed for the teaching

We had an all-star line-up of open air speakers from around the country that taught on the topic of ‘The fundamentals of open air preaching’

“For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” Ephesians 4:12

“But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry”
2Timothy 4:5

And since Vegas is out West we had a Spanish street preacher preach in Spanish via interpreter

One cannot come to a SOAPA gathering and not expect to be moved and ‘Go Preach’ so every night after the last session, we geared up for cold weather and preached those streets.

This young man is making himself ready to stand with us, he wanted his father to take him to SOAPA and so father and son did some bonding.

The first night we stood on Freemont Street and raised our banner high.

Banners were positioned in a way that made everyone on that street run the banner gauntlet

Even the youth took turns holding their banner high and straight

“Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah”
Psalm 60:4

We took turns preaching to the crowds so that megaphone was going often

Of course the Holy Ghost was doing His job and convicting the world of sin as this drunk was convicted. He caused such of a stir the Metro police needed to pull him away and warn him

The outdoor service continued and after an hour the police were again called from complaints made, so a couple of us were moved and questioned…..like this is not the first time….

After they gave me back my ID, they seem to entreat me differently as they only said just tone down the megaphone a bit….to which we did.

It was business as usual, just another day at the office as the preaching continued and we answered questions with those concerned for their souls

The next night we preached at Las Vegas Boulevard where we planned to let our LIGHT shine brighter than those casino lights.

There we walked preaching with banners raised, stood and even answered questions

“We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions”
Psalm 20:5

NEW YEARS EVE

Before we ended the conference, we acknowledged a person who has endured trials, persecutions, arrests, court victories and persistence in street preaching.

This acknowledgment has been going in since the 90’s where it was started at our yearly gathering in Oregon. We would award certain men for their outdoor labor and these men would weep when recognized.

We ended the last session saluting David Gibson of Norfolk, Virginia for the 2018
‘Preacher Of The Year’ award.

Before a room giving him a well-deserved standing ovation. I explained how he has every excuse NOT to go out and preach on the street.

2Timothy reads
“Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season”

That out of season means STILL PREACH even if you think you should not and THAT David Gibson has done. His 70 plus year old body does not work like it once did, yet he does.

He had family issues and there are always issues within a Church, as he pastors ‘True Vine Baptist Church’ and still makes times to go out and preach.

Weather, not a problem, even if he just holds a sign or banner on an intersection, he will do and you will never hear him slander another.

Illness did not hold him down from his first love. The Lord has used him to fight and win free speech issues in his city. He is a beacon in his city and upholds the standard of God publicly…..and for that and more we salute him.

Now I know, behind every spiritual man is a Proverbs 31 woman, so his wife Kay also joined in, as we thanked God for their marriage and asked for many more years.

“And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness”
1Corinthians 12:23

Sooooo what did this couple do after winning ‘Preacher of the Year?’ They went out and PREACHED….ending the old year PREACHING….starting the New Year lifting up Jesus

After the award, I gave a briefing as to what was expected from everyone

Everyone had a job, banners were given out and we worked as a team as per Matthew 10

We drove to Las Vegas Blvd, met with the police who had an area already for us and started to set us shop

Once the banners were raised and the megaphone was lifted the outdoor service started and those banners were awesome

“Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?”
Song of Solomon 6:10

The weather was very cold and at least the heathen had strong drink to keep them warm we only had the FIRE of the Holy Ghost to burn through our bodies

“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire”
Matthew 3:11

“Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay”
Jeremiah 20:9

Many people think this type of preaching is not productive but what they may never see is all the conversations it provokes and these smaller conversations are life changers.

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear”
1Peter 3:15

Here are just a few of those conversations, this guy claimed to be a believer but said he can get drunk and celebrate New Year, also fornicating with his girlfriend is fine because its all under the blood.

I had something to say about that.

This person was a Muslim and knew all about me as he said ‘we have much in common’ I agued that they reject Jesus as the Son of God and that is salvation pending. We had a great conversation.

Here is a young gal who heard the preaching and was not offended, saw the banners and was not offended. She was in Vegas with her family and both her parents are atheists, her brother is an agnostic.

She is the only one saved and she was happy her family stood and heard as she has tried to share with them. After our conversation, she wanted prayer, to be bolder this new year and be a witness to her family.

So the next time you hear street preachers and wish to criticize them and that approach, you may not know nor see the full value of that method.

“Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles”
Isaiah 13:2

Also beware you do NOT blaspheme the Holy Ghost and call the work of the Holy Spirit evil

The preaching continue as a New Year will not end nor resolve anything IF you were ill on the 31st, you may still be sick on January 1

IF you had car problems on the 31st, you will still have car problems on January 1

IF you no money on the 31st, you will still no money on January 1 I

F you had a neighbor with a barking dog on the 31st, that dog will be barking on January 1

IF you had bill collectors calling you on December 31st, you may still get contacted on January 1

IF you lost your job on December 31st, you will be unemployed on January 1

IF you had you utilities shut off on December 31st, they will still be shut off on January 1

IF Trump was in office on the 31st and expect him on January 1

IF you had family issues on the 31st, those problems will still be there on January 1

IF you went to Church on the 31st, that will not make you a Christian January 1 I

F you were a sinner on the 31st, you will still be sinner on January 1

However IF you truly repented for your sins and cried out to God in Jesus name on December 31th, THAT could be a change not only on January 1 and for the rest of your life, but for eternity.

This night we trained our youth to stand strong, as the older ox teaches the younger ox how to plow that rocky field and taught them how to answer questions

“The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things”
Proverbs 15:28

God continued to echo His holy standard and the need for being born again to the 1000’s an 1000’s of people walking

And at midnight, the sky was filled with fireworks and that night we led EVERYONE to the Lord but what they do with that is NOW on them.

They heard, they saw, they stood around and a few the police had to remove so at the end of the day……or year…..they are without excuse.

“Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences”
2Corinthians 5:11

WE pray this New Year YOU read and obey the Bible more than you did in 2018

Our HOLY Book is not just a spiritual read. It is filled with tangible evidence, it has what NO other books has, prophecy, fulfillment, miracles, witnesses and archaeology, just to name a few.

Fun FACTS about our beloved Bible; Did you know over 100 million copies of the Bible are sold each year.
