Big Easy 2016

Thank you for the many prayers as we were the boots on the ground to preach against sin.
We promoted the LIGHT and exposed the problem, with the remedy, JESUS

We were not there to pray for the sinner and send them on their way or put a ‘happy face-Jesus loves you’ sticker on their shirt.

We were not there to give free water, hugs nor hot chocolate for Jesus.

We did not play games, do magic or sing people into the kingdom of God.

We were there to convict the sinner of their sin.

We were the conscience in New Orleans, where whatever is right is wrong and whatever is wrong is right. We were the watchman sounding the alarm and warning the masses of a judgment to come.
Everyone wants to quote John 3:16.

We were there to finish the text and give them
John 3:36

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him”

We were not there to make friends but enemies, as most on the street are at war with a holy God and most believed they are saved and sealed by the Holy Ghost. Until they bumped into us and were told otherwise.

“They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate”
Titus 1:16

In the photo below is a young man wearing a ‘fu** you’ shirt and he said his father was a minister and he was a Christian.

He was just there to experience Bourbon Street and was shocked because we rebuked him and not told him ‘Jesus love him.’

I say that is the reason he has such a misunderstanding of salvation.

All love, no repentance, no remorse.

Other believers laid hands on him and prayed for him but with us, he got a big rebuke.

He would walk away and come back, only to walk away again and again.

Our goal is NOT to strengthen the hands of the wicked

This year we had a number of first timers to Mardi Gras as many joined us from New York, Houston, Portland, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Ohio and California.

A number of different denominations but likeminded on solid points, like repentance and belief in Jesus as the Christ. These men worked well with each other and got the job done.

We were covered with your prayers and were a well-oiled machinery, with all gears full throttle.

We are not ‘union’ so the hours are long, day and night. The wind was an issues as carrying those banners in the wind is a full time job, let alone trying to fight off sinners and getting hit with beads all day.

These young men came with backbone and that no doubt was used to get the job done.
No complaints when your hands on to the plow.

What an honor to serve next to these men and I do believe before one can be a spiritual man, one must first be a man.

As you know the goal for Mardi Gras is to sin all you want before ‘ash Wednesday’ hence the word ‘fat Tuesday.’ Do it all on Tuesday, get drunk, take dope, screw like rabbits in heat because at midnight on Tuesday, ‘lent’ officially begins.

Ashes are placed on your forehead in the form of a cross and that means you are sorry for your sins and are willing to give something up for 40 days.

As with many cities we preach at, we do work with local Churches for many reasons but mainly after salvation, to send people too and yes sinners do get saved from our method of preaching.

But we demand ‘fruit meet for repentance’ as per remove the beads, cigarettes taken booze dumped on the street.

The next pictures below is from a nude bar on Bourbon Street where the owner made a sign just for us, as they welcomed sinners into their bar.

The owner was so upset that we set up shop in front of his bar, that he threatened to put a bullet in a few street preachers.

The local police, State Troopers, Sherriff and fire Marshalls stood around us often to keep the peace as LIGHT and DARKNESS collided

Some heathen were creative and
made their own signs

Glad we rained on their parade, as per Proverbs 24:20

“For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out”

Every morning we had a briefing as to what is expected, banners and megaphones were passed out and everyone had a job.

“Let all things be done decently and in order"
1 Corinthians 14:40

Once out on the street, we split up into groups to cover more real estate

Day after day we walked the French Quarter and Bourbon Street

We were not there to ask ‘have you ever sinned….lied….lusted…us too…..see we are just like you”

We were there to POINT OUT SIN, not to find medium ground with the sinner.

And after 10-12-16 hours a day we rolled up our banners and called it the day.

It was an early Mardi Gras, which was good because with the cold weather, that would mean sinners leaving their clothes on and not stripping naked in public.

The picture below speaks volumes of how cold it was on those streets, yet the Brother preaching is burning with fire and his goggles were steamed up.
(not photo shop)

“Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay”
Jeremiah 20:9

Our function was done and do pray for laborers to reap our harvest, as found in John 4:38

“I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours”

I flew out of Naw Orleans into Las Vegas for one day, to film a documentary on world religion.

It appears I will start this film off preaching in sin-city, with my banner and megaphone blasting into the crowds. I get asked a few questions and later we walk away from the lights and get into a great conversation, of why Jesus and why the Bible.

The directors loved it and I can’t give much detail on it but should be out this spring.

Every year I get at least 12-15 emails for documentaries and docudramas, however I only respond to a few.

Most believers would avoid talking on camera because they believe what they say will be edited and used against them.

There is only one reason that happens.

 They speak too much.

If you let your words be few, not much editing can be done and face it, most Christians just don’t know how to speak with cameras, lights and a sound crew following them.

There would be a lot of “umm….ummm….ummmmm…..” in their conversation.

These film crews are not out to make you look bad, they just want quick, clear answers, without wandering off the topic.

And I seem to fit the bill, so at the end of the day it was just another film that has our banners and preaching.

That is what we call ‘extra credit’

On behalf of those men that plowed in the Big-Easy, thank you for your prayers and support.
