This past Sunday was the ‘Critic Awards’ were held in Santa Monica and this Hollywood award does not have a permanent home.
So this venue moves from city to city and this year it was held inside an old hanger at an airport, so of course with the right lights and make up it appeared like a Broadway show.
That is what Hollywood is, one big hallucination.
This is what this golden calf looks
like in the land of mirage.
So we did not know the layout so I brought both banners and sandwich signs and depending on the itinerary we will accommodate to cover the event with preachers.
What is a Critic Award?
The award is annually given by the Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) to honor the finest in cinematic achievement and just another award before that sacred Academy Award.
To us it is just another event to reach the Hollywood elite, as the Lord gave us great location and with this venue there was only ONE WAY of going in and that one way had us THERE.
They could not miss the banners and sandwich by coupled with megaphone preaching.
Over the years we have done much preaching in Santa Monica and we work well with the local police.
So we have much liberty there.
Critics Choice Awards:
Again at this event we were very close to cars and limos lined up to go inside.
Several ‘stars’ rolled their windows down to talk or shouted something at us after seeing the signs
“Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever”
One of the funniest comments made from a car going inside was someone shouted ‘Stop Judging!’
This from someone attending ‘The Critics Awards’ where the very word ‘critic’ is to judge and evaluate.
No one yells at the judges of these awards to ‘Stop Judging!’ but expose sin in public and you will hear those two words all day long.
Inside these vehicles were men thinking themselves to be gods, rich and drunken with fame.
And plastic women who were assembled with silicone, lip & breast implants, face lifts, liposuction, cosmetic surgery, Botox, hair extensions, tummy tucks and laser surgery.
It was like preaching to a convention of Stepford wives.
This is WHY Jesus said to ‘PREACH TO EVERY CREATURE’ as per Mark 16:15 because that day the creatures and gods were out in force and they did get a very sobering message
Thank You all for joining us with your prayers because at the end of the day, THEY HEARD, THEY SAW and now THEY cannot plead ignorant before a Holy God.
Continue those prayers that someone may reap from our labor and the Father give growth.
“And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours”
At the end of the day and we packed up and this was ust another day at the office in the life of a street preacher.
“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh,
when no man can work”
‘King DAY’ was celebrated on Monday and the city of Los Angeles say there are the oldest and largest Martin Luther King parade in our nation.
Of course this parade was held in south central Los Angeles (aka gangland) and you cannot have a ‘King Parade’ without dancing
To say the police made a presence (for some reason), this parade is like no other.
Almost every group needs to do a dance every few steps, once there was a large prison bus that had a large sign which read ‘Remember Your Loved Ones In Prison’
And did I mention dancing?
The police and mayor can get booed and hissed, with cheers for Ronald McDonald and the crowd chanting ‘Sweet Tea 99 cent.’ Not making this stuff up, just reporting and did I mention there was dancing?
The group ‘Black lives Matter’ were there in force following and taunting LAPD and of course that faction was angry and grumpy because the parade started at 11AM, which in that neighborhood
is like a 5AM start.
This no doubt was a time and place for them to get a certain race stirred up.
And did I forget to mention there was dancing?
Banners were placed along the route and it appeared the only time the crowd responded was when something was said against sodomy.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
No doubt he will go down in American history as one of the most influential people of the 20th century Many know him for his famous “I Have A Dream” speech in Washington DC.
Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968) was a Baptist minister and social activist who played a key role in the American civil rights movement from the mid-1950s until his assassination in 1968.
There is a dark side to this Nobel Peace Prize winner, he was a Mason and on Labor Day 1957, a special meeting was attended by Martin Luther King and four others at a strange institution called the Highlander Folk School in Monteagle, Tennessee.
The Highlander Folk School was a Communist front, having been founded by Myles Horton (Communist Party organizer for Tennessee) and Don West (Communist Party organizer for North Carolina).
The leaders of this meeting with King were the aforementioned Horton and West, along with Abner Berry and James Dumbrowski, all open and acknowledged members of the Communist Party, USA. The agenda of the meeting was a plan to tour the Southern states to initiate demonstrations and riots. King was a communist, which is not a big thing today because our President is a socialist but back in that day it was not good.
King was known for being an adulterer, it is history that King even spent the last night of his life with a woman who was not his wife. After getting shot and with all the chaos outside the Lorraine Motel, his advisers told the young woman to stay out of the ambulance to avoid tarnishing his legacy.
Before getting shot and after he finished what he was doing to that young women in the hotel, he stepped outside to have a smoke. King was a lifelong smoker but did want the public to see his habit.
After King was shot, his advisers stopped the bleeding while one of them, Dr. Billy Kyles, removed a pack of cigarettes from King’s pocket.
King’s right-hand man, Ralph Abernathy, wrote in his 1989 autobiography that the staff “all understood and believed in the biblical prohibition against sex outside marriage. It was just that he had a particularly difficult time with that temptation.”
Abernathy also wrote that King had a “weakness for women” while Johnson who considered King’s criticism of Vietnam a personal betrayal called him a “hypocritical preacher.”
Loved by many and a man who influenced his theater but will any of that help him today?
“They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate”
WELCOME TO MY OFFICE
Here you get some personal Q&A time with Uncle Ruben, as you just never know what questions we will be asked on a street corner or via email/internet.
So I would like to post this because there may be some among you who believes we need to touch snakes as confirmation of our faith.
“Mr.Israel Jesus said he would confirm our word with signs following and one of those signs are taking up serpents. Do you?”
You have me mistaken with someone else, I live in Los Angeles not the hills of Kentucky where that is considered evidence of Christianity.
Has it ever dawned on you that the word ‘snake’ may not be a literal word for an elongated reptile? Jesus called religious people ‘snakes’ often in Matthew 23 “Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?”
Humans were called snakes and vipers and He was not alone, as we find John the Baptist saying the same thing when addressing people;
“Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?”
I not only believe this but have lived it. I have preached too many religious people, groups, meetings, cults, gurus, conventions, new agers, false prophets and teachers. They may show me white-fag and rattle their tail, many have even bit me with their poison but all for not
In Acts 28:3 we read where Paul was bitten by a snake;
“And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand”
But IF context means anything, he was not dancing around and placing his hand inside a box of snakes to prove his belief in God. He was gathering wood to make a fire and was bitten.
I say anyone that places their hand in a box of snakes, grabs a snake, then dances around a Church holding the snake in air is tempting God and not the power of God. What’s next prove our faith in God we should all purposely drink drano?
Jesus did say
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover”
However before that statement, he said “GO PREACH” not go into all the world and cast out devils, or go into all the world and heal the sick.
Yet people make that the emphasis of their Christianity. Jesus did not say to go into all the world touch snakes, that should not be the prominence of Mark 16. My 2 cent and keep the change.
“Ruben, I am puzzled cause I have noticed you wearing shirts that reads ‘fear God’. Why should we fear God? We should love God. Is that “Fear God” not the God of the Old Testament. I cannot love and fear God, just preach the gospel brother”
One can both love God and fear God at the same time. It is the LOVE for God that will have us walk and obey God AND it is the FEAR of God which should make us not live in sin.
I see harmony, not confusion, I believe they both work in concert for your benefit.
You say ‘fearing God’ is Old Testament?
That shirt was made from Revelation 14:6-7 and in case you do not know, that is the last book ifrom the New Testament.
“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters”
So we find a few profound words within that text, were heavenly cherubs are flying with “the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth” and these being are preaching with “a loud voice, Fear God.”
Not God loves you. Not giving away free water bottles Not can I pray for you Not inviting people to Church But “Fear God” That word ‘fear’ is not a state of awe or reverence but terror as per Matthew 10:28;
“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell”
No need to know Greek or Hebrew, good old King Jimmy gives you the definition by allowing the Bible to interpret the Bible with just using the BIBLE.
The verse used reads “fear not them which kill the body” now IF someone put a knife to your neck, would you be in a state of awe or reverence? OR would you be in a state of horror? IF context means anything, that SAME FEAR should be funneled towards God, as He can “destroy both soul and body in hell.”
And remember this was said to His disciples, those men that gave everything up to follow Jesus and you say invalid?
FEAR is not an Old Testament issue.
For example in Acts 5 we read about Ananias and Sapphira who lied and they were both killed the text reads
“And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things”
Did you read that, not just ‘fear’ but GREAT FEAR….and must I remind you this was after the death and resurrection of Jesus.
In Ephesians 5:21 one can read;
“Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God”
1 Peter 2:17 reads;
“Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor”
We have countless verses in the Bible where angels appeared to men and the trend that happens is men and women fall to the ground shanking.
In which those angels repeatedly say “fear Not” as in those people were terrified. God is not bipolar, in being fearful in the Old Testament and loving in the New Testament, He is the same and we can both LOVE and FEAR God.
Show me someone who does not ‘fear God’ and I will show you someone with no wisdom or understanding.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom” Proverbs 9:10
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge” Proverbs 1:7
I will leave you with this verse found in Ecclesiastes 12:1 which is still valid today;
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man”
THAT IS THE WHOLE
DUTY OF MAN!
“rubin i have seen you preaching in a number of cities and i question. first off, i have seen the crowds you attract but i believe under the spirit of confusion. there is more chaos within your listeners then salvation. i see more disorder then repentance. i have also seen videos with ray comfort and he seems to have a lot of people standing around him too but there is no disarray. i must conclude your method is wrong and unbiblical because god is not the author of confusion and that is your fruit.
Allow me to clarify this confusion Raymond because the only one confused is you. Unbiblical you say?
Must I remind you, just who confused the people with the Tower of Babel?
Not the devil, he started it in the Garden with Eve, which gives him the title of being the author and don’t think God cannot use it. See the Tower of Babel for details.
Think this is not fruit of the Holy Ghost, I do wonder what Bible you read.
For example in the book of Acts we find Paul debating for 3 Sabbaths that Jesus is the Christ and within that story we read
“But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.”
Paul’s preaching caused an uproar and as a result, the mob attacked Jason’s house. Sometime tells me you would have said that preaching was not of God.
Need another…...Acts 19 we find Paul preaching and making ‘no small stir about that way’ because he spoke against the ‘great goddess Diana’ and when the people heard this ‘they were full of wrath, and cried out’ Now this verse may be shocking;
“And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul's companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.”
The entire city was filled with confusion as a result of Paul’s preaching. Sure glad you were not there or you would have told Paul he is doing it all wrong
This was said about Paul and Silas
“And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city”
You want fruit of Holy Ghost preaching?
“These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also”
After Peter was arrested he escaped from jail and we read there was confusion within the jailhouse;
“Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers, what was become of Peter”
In Revelation 11 we read about the two witnesses and after they were killed we read this;
“And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.”
They tormented the whole world with their words and you wish to judge me?
What is amazing, is that you will use unbelievers to determine if my words are inspired.
Glad you were not around when Noah preached or you would have considered that ‘preacher of righteousness’ evil, using his theater to see if he was speaking for God. Noah would have failed.
Now I have seen Ray Comfort myself and God bless him for his labor but a number of those people standing around him are with him. That is why you don’t see the heated raw debates like we do. Besides I address sin and personal sin when I preach and that will cause ‘no small stir’ and if you wish to judge my preaching by the reaction of the unsaved, I say your judgment is beyond error.
I will take confusion and chaos any day of the week and twice on Sunday, over being quick to have someone repeat a prayer and tell them they are saved and sealed.
I warn you. You are close to blasphemy against the Holy Ghost by saying what you see is a result from a spirit of confusion
