Labor Day

We labored on Labor Day weekend as many worked at coming to ‘southern decadence’ for one thing. SIN!

“The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity”
Psalm 5:5

…..and we came for one reason also WARN!

“Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me”
Ezekiel 3:17

This is also the 10th year anniversary since hurricane Katrina made landfall on the gulf coast.

Katrina hit New Orleans during this same event and the news never mentioned that.

Katrina was the costliest natural disaster, as well as one of the five deadliest hurricanes, in the history of the United States.  Total property damage was estimated at $108 billion.

At least 1,245 people died in the hurricane with many still missing as bodies were seen floating throughout the city, making it the deadliest United States hurricane since the 1928 Okeechobee hurricane.

New Orleans is below sea level so those buried were removed from their graves as the rushing water busted into their cement graves and opened up coffins.

One would think that many would have cried out to God but instead, they looted, raped and murdered each other. Even shooting those who tried to save the living as rescue teams needed to be escorted by armed police

Ten years later, the city is not in mourning as the bereavement is over and like a dog, she has returned to the vomit.

The grieving period is over and the rebellion has continued as this city will be due for another chastisement.

“As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly”
Proverbs 26:11

Sinners should rejoice we are coming because that was the only year we did not come to ‘southern decadence’ and look what happened.

I have always said in the many cities I preach against:
"You people don’t want God to get involved, this is why He sent us to give you a strong rebuke. Because when my Father gets involved, he destroys things, people die and cities or nations will cease.
So be thankful, very thankful we are here and not Father God”

We had a small army walking those streets in the afternoon and evening, in the hot humid heat and rain to remind them of what happened 10 years ago.

This is an old picture below of us walking the streets 11 years ago , the year before Katrina as we publicly preach with a stone face

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord”
1 Corinthians 15:58

We did not come to that wicked city to hug heathen, nor did we pass out cool water.

We will not invite sinners to Church or dinner, nor did we sing to them, we had no puppet shows nor cute magic tricks to make people smile.

Our function is to confront the open sin, rebuke said sin with God’s standard and offer the gospel as the remedy coupled with fruit meet for repentance.

There were a few who heard our preaching and saw our banners and wept from conviction right there on the street and we had a number of people convicted pour out their drinks.

This is not an event where you reap the harvest, because before you can plant that seed or water that seed, one must toil the rocky soil first.

Many believed they are saved because they said a ‘prayer’ or they will argue ‘Jesus loves me’ and ‘its all under the blood.’

They have a form of religion and many of them even go to a Church, so they think we are haters and unloving because we say God will not accept them as is.

"There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death"
Proverbs 16:25

While many Americans are having a barbecue at the park, swimming in a pool, having friends and family over, watching a twilight zone thon or buying something on sale on Labor Day.

The Lord had us laboring a rocky ground filled with public sin, drunkenness, witchcraft, all with a dash of religion. Also that weekend we outside two abortion clinics, some may consider such labor to be unfruitful but God’s Word does not return void.

“Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain”
Philippians 2:16

On Sunday they had their ‘decadence parade’ as the parade walked around the French Quarter boasting of their sin to the cheers of the crowds
.

After preaching the parade we followed the parade and was very thankful we had a police car moving through the crowd and like parted the ocean of sinners in our path.

Thank You for your prayers as no one was arrested from our team this year and we came home with a few bruises and two broken banners.

WHAT IF
street preachers were gangster criminals, we would say.......

WE ARE EVERYWHERE

Can you spot the Christians in the crowd? Those banners are not flying in America, those banners are flying in Zurich, Switzerland.

This open air preacher is from the Philippines

South Africa

Norway

Canada

And the Czech Republic REMEMBER:

PREACHING ON A CAMPUS
Like many of you after a full day on a college campus, we get a police escorted to our vehicle for our own safety.

It does not take campus police long to figure out who the bad guy is.

Just standing on campus holding a sign, students gather as we are called ‘haters’ and ‘bullies.’ Within minutes those same students that have called the police have slapped, spit, thrown water and pushed us. We are told how ‘unloving’ we are as they try to grab our signs or block our message.

One student said ‘I’m a f***en Christian, you a**hole, people like you give f***en Christians a bad name. I have the f***en holy ghost and you f***ers don’t have sh**. F***en a**holes”

Many would be offended on any college campus in America, but to me its’s just another day at the office.
