Nothing like that Southern Hospitality, as a dear sister made me a cake for coming to her city
Of course the reason for going to Atlanta was to edify saints that are NOT ashamed of the Gospel.
We met at a local Church for morning meetings and preached on two campuses by noon, then returned after dinner for more evening speakers.
These speakers will be posted later on the SOAPA youtube site. And anyone that has ever gone to a ‘street preacher’ convention, knows these men speak with passion and not just reciting from notes.
As they teach like they preach, with loud outbursts and hands waving to hammer down a point.
No need for a sound system at the Atlanta SPAPA, and I’m sure the neighbors heard too.
Each day we had a place to preach and I was involved with the group that went to Georgia State.
Now for some reason this university is liken to a city college, as the students seemed to gain acceptance based on color of skin and surname.
Having a high AP or IB test scores or scholarships and honors mean nothing on this campus. Lastly, it appears most students major in ‘Hate Christianity’
We stood outside the gates of the campus because we were told a student group had a permit around the free speech area.
They assumed, no one would listen but were they ever wrong.
“They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly”
Students stood by asking questions which stopped the flow going into the campus. City and campus police were called as they tried to keep the students moving and not to talk with us.
It was later decided that we could go inside and stand on the cement stage.
The students followed the banners.
Students were everywhere mocking our belief, one student stood across from us preaching about satan and quoting the santanic bible.
Atheist held signs and homosexual danced to the delight of the crowd. Black students argued that the Bible was used to promote racism and Muslims took great offense to my banner, which was their history of Islam, that Mohamad was a child molester, liar and murderer.
As with any outdoor preach, this method of preaching will provoke many great one on one conversations.
About an hour before we were leaving one female Muslim student ran to my banner and grabbed it, pulled it into the crowd as I jumped off the cement platform into the crowd.
It was a pushing contest as students tried to rip apart that banner. Campus police moved in within seconds and ordered us off the campus. The female was detained as we were escorted away, where city police we waiting outside the campus.
The Dean of students came to talk with the girl who has changed her story saying that I attacked her with my banner. When I was questioned, I told the police that we had cameras on us the whole time and IF that were true (me attacked her) some students would have that on film.
She is lying.
Brother JK told the police that the area we stood has cameras and they should view the footage. Again, her story changed, that I hit her with my banner and kick her. According to the police her foot was swollen from the scuffle and it appeared to be bruised but I said she was nowhere near me as she was yanking my 4 foot banner and I was trying to hold on to it.
I suggested maybe someone stepped on her foot as a number of students joined in the melee. I did get my banner back, ripped and that match my ripped T-shirt. The student was warned and not cited.
Before we walked away, she continued to scream at me. I only responded to her ‘We are not in Iran, this is America’ as the Dean tried to claim her down. Something tells me, IF I were the one who attacked someone, I would have been arrested.
But we are always the visiting team and expect this.
The city police, campus police and Dean knew we were coming back the next day and they were ready.
That same day another team preached to the nerds at Georgia Tec, when those students sit and listen to the preachers in an outdoor amphitheater.
Now if those students at GT had a question, unlike Georgia State, they raised their hand and most of them read scripture right from their computers.
When we arrived at Georgie State the next day, we were allowed to use the cement podium but that area was a ghost town and within a few minutes of preaching with banners raised,
the students formed a crowd.
A number of students had heard about my banner getting pulled down and questioned me, because the story was I attacked that poor Muslim girl, who now has a broken foot.
The campus police also spent time to talk with me as they were going to review the footage from the campus security. I gave my side of the story and my ID with contact info.
Campus police made a presence and did not interrupt our preaching, as just their attendance kept the sinners at bay.
And of course that style of evangelism provokes conversation as everyone had a small crowd around them as we contended for the faith publicly and answered questions.
One student was even open for prayer, as he later thanked me knowing that someone back home is concerned for his salvation.
It is very common within the campuses we preach, that we are accused of doing more damage than good and turning more people off.
My response is simple, those professors are doing more damage than good and turning more people off in that classroom and those students come to college as a believer and graduate as an atheist, who now subscribes to evolution.
And I never heard these Christians get angry over that, but if you preach against sin and false religions, THAT is immoral and a turn off.
On Saturday, we preached downtown Atlanta for the cities transgender parade.
That’s right, you read that correct,
a transgender parade
Something tell me that the ‘Bible Belt’ needs to tighten up a notch. We set ourselves in a safe location along the route and that would be using a large plastic barricade to protect our rear.
With our back side protected, we warned the city and rebuked the marchers.
After the trannies pranced by, God opened up the skies and it started to rain and pour. We followed them into the park and continued our scolding in the rain. I say, better water than fire and brimstone.
The police is given over to the PC god, as they have adopted new policies on interacting with transgender community
On Sunday, we arrived early to preach against their yearly ‘pride parade’ and to remind them that God HATES a proud look as per Proverbs chapter 6.
And IF He HATES a ‘proud look’ how much more does He hate a pride parade?
We came early to get a good location on the route and as you can see from the picture below, the banners we raised before the street was
shut down to traffic.
Soon the sidewalk was filled with sodomites who argued that God is love and forgiving, yet they never mention the word ‘REPENT’ in their vocabulary.
They justify their sin because they say Jesus never spoke against the sin of homosexuality. However Jesus did mention Sodom twice and if we use their standard, He never mentioned child molestation and rape. So I guess it’s OK to molest children and rape each other, because Jesus never mention it.
Many people tried to argue that they were born that way and they were reproved for trying to rationalize what God hates and calls an ‘abomination’ in the Old Testament and ‘reprobate’ in the New Testament.
“He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD”
Now just before the parade was starting, a number of homosexuals with large flowers tried to cover up our banners. So much for ‘Free Speech’ in America as these people loathe democracy as per reversing the will of the people with ‘Prop 8’ and now this.
They also blew whistles to drown out the preaching. They appeared to be convicted and tried to do whatever they could to quench the preaching.
They even pushed their wooden signs against our banners and bent our banner poles
The police was notified but did nothing
I walked out onto the street to talk with those in charge as seen with the photo below, but nothing was done.
Later I had a lieutenant from the Atlanta police department tell me I needed to stay behind the barricades or I could be cited.
I asked him to move those flowers or we would get in front of them. I was not asking for them to remove their signs, just not block our banners but he was not concerned with those signs blocking our free speech.
In other cities like West Hollywood, Chicago, Philadelphia and San Diego those police departments have moved people to wish to block our message with signs and flags but no so in Atlanta.
Because the police refused to move the wooden flowers in front of us, a number of us moved pass the barricades towards the street with our banners. It appears the police department does not want to get sued by the sodomites, so they allowed them to push, shove and block our banners.
Ever wonder why so many open air preachers preach hard against sin?
The reason is very simple, we see and hear the result of what is being preached inside those four walled Churches and it is not good.
Most ministers only see their flock on Sunday, wearing good clothes, with a smile and looking saintly, however we see that same person Monday through Saturday and that good Sunday fruit is rotten, soft, mushy, bruised and underdeveloped.
We see a person drunk, doped up with condoms in his pocket and holding hands with someone he will be fornicating and he will argue that he is saved, because…… He said a prayer
He is sealed with the Holy Ghost
He speaks in tongues
All his sins are forgiven
He just needs prayer
He needs a testimony
God needs to deliver him from something
It’s all under the blood
He repents everyday
He is the elect and chosen before the foundation of the earth
He was told that God loves him no matter what he does
God is love
My Church teaches….and told me….
You don’t know who I am I believe in Jesus as found in John 3:16
But the most commonly explanation we hear is: He is saved by grace and we believe in a works salvation.
The best verse to use regarding what is Biblical ‘grace’ is found in Titus chapter 2 where we read the word ‘grace’ in concert with the word ‘salvation’ so context is loud and clear.
However before we start at verse 11, verse 1 of the same chapter reads
“But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine”
What you are about to read is SOUND DOCTRINE.
“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works”
NOTE: the verse clearly say that salvation is appeared for ‘all men’ not a few chosen. Again this passage is ‘grace’ coupled with ‘salvation’ and that GRACE should teach us to deny ungodliness, live righteously and godly IN THIS PRESENT WORLD.
Not try to live righteously, not wait till you get your new body, not just on Sunday but this PRESENT-DAY. AND it is because of that ‘grace’ and that sanctified living, we can look forward to the return of Jesus.
As a bride worthy of that WHITE GOWN.
There is MORE…..we are redeemed, purified and a distinctive, with good works. OH NO, there is that ‘W’ word Christianity hates. How can the word ‘works’ be in the same text as living holy and ‘grace’ with ‘salvation’
What was the Holy Ghost thinking, when He inspired this Epistle?
Every Christian knows Ephesians 2:8;
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God”
That verse is abused by more Church goers as a way to justify sin, but do they know Titus 2:11-14 where we find grace…salvation…living holy…and works….
“For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God”
“For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips”
Some people tell me ‘I do open air preach Ruben, I only do one on one’
I say DO NOT limit the Holy Ghost, that is like saying I will only be used of God in the daytime from noon to 4:30PM or I will only talk to females under the age of 35.
Who would say that?
One can open air preach and witness, it is NOT either or. Often times after I preach in public I am surrounded with questions and spend time doing one on one. That one on one witnessing, was a result of my public preaching, so they both work in concert.
IF Jesus is your heart, He will come out from your mouth, be it one on one or one on 10,000
“for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh”
