Taking Jesus to the sports god, where the LA Kings played in the Stanley Cup against New York and this event had us outside reminding the crowds that JESUS is the King of KINGS. Tickets for this game in downtown Los Angeles started off around $1,100.00, so this was not your average drunken sports nut. We arrived early and set up our banners
And waited to for game to end, so we can preach to the crowd coming out….but….
the games went into overtime…..so we waited….
Then the game was over and bodies were everywhere as we reminded these souls to be a fanatic for Jesus, as athletes come and go, event sports teams can uprooted and leave a city but JESUS CHRIST will never leave or forsake you.
Not that they may forsake Jesus and deny Jesus or be ashamed of Jesus.
“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven”
But at this moment, these people were all about the LA Kings. If these sports-dolater would get excited about God’s Word, revival would have happened yesterday.
“Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God”
And of course, we had issues with security, as they did not want me standing in the street, even if the street around Staples Center was shut down.
Welcome to my world, where Christians are the problem and where we are theathen with arrest or citation.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”
And no doubt those ‘high places’ wanted us gone but that was not going to happen.
Of course I argued and told them to get LAPD and they just ended by saying ‘I need to obey Romans 13’ and I need to be ashamed of myself, as I responded ‘I obey God.’
Why security was concerned about a guy with a sign in the street, when they just released 17,000 drunks in the streets. I was the least of their problems but not so in the spiritual world.
Preaching outside a sporting event can be liken to preaching outside a Church as these people consider their sports building a temple and those player are little gods. A win can make their day and a lost, can put them in a state of depression. These poor souls can watch a sports game for three hours and cannot read the Bible for 10 minutes. T
hey know the player names based on the number they wear but know nothing of men of God in the Bible.
At the end of the night, we gave ‘testimony’ we were a ‘witness’ and did ‘testify’ ALL courtroom terminology that these souls will meet a holy God as per Amos 4:12 “Prepare to meet thy God.”
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil”
Warning the sodomites in West Hollywood at their ‘pride parade’
“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall”
This was my 34th year preaching at this event and something tells me that those men I preached at back in 1980 are dead today, most likely from a disease and it is with that conviction, we preach a sober message, as the wage of their sin, IS DEATH.
“Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die”
We were thankful for the Los Angeles county Sheriff department who watched our back as we preached what God thinks of that parade
And of course we ‘made no small stir’ so we had SWAT officers around us to keep the angry sodomites at bay, as the police used 2 sets of metal barricades and even with that, one angry homosexual jumped the barricade and rushed me. But we expect this as this is big-league street preaching.
We warned the wicked as a faithful watchman as per Ezekiel 3 and 33.
They heard a variety of preachers that day with one common denominator and that would be the need for repentance and getting born again. Therefore they have no excuse when they stand before God.
“Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences”
2 Corinthians 5:11
“The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness”
“The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate”
We had an army of banners as signs and wonders followed us, no doubt these sinners saw our signs and did wonder.
And of course, every street preacher has a ‘fan club’
And to be filed under ‘extra credit’ we had a few cameras around us and interviews as to why we say and do what we do.
At the end of the day, the city was warned and we pray that God bring more laborers to reap from our labor as God will give growth.
“I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours”
It may appear our preaching is done in vain but our Lord did say in the last days it will be as in the days of Noah and that ‘preacher of righteousness’ warned his world and they ate, drank and were getting married. Not much has changed since the days of Noah, as these sodomites eat, drink and now are getting married. .
“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” Genesis 6:5
“And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all”
Keep us in your prayers as we contend for the faith in public and WILL YOU?
“Who stands up for me against the wicked? Who takes a stand for me against evildoers?”
“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none”
