Set Free

“Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you”
2 Thessalonians 3:1
Larry Craft and his son
have been released.
Last week they stood before a judge who dropped two charges but still held them for ‘criminal trespassing’ for preaching the gospel and passing out tracts in Georgia.
But that’s not all…….
It appears after 6 weeks in jail the judge this week decided to drop all charges, not much details but he is out and now with his wife and children.
On behalf of the Craft FAMILY a big thank you for your prayers and support.
Our goal is to preach the God of the Bible in the modern day market place, not get cited, arrested and jailed. However, there are times that doing our duty, this happens and we rejoice in the Lord that we get jailed for Jesus. Not politics, not theology, not ego but Jesus.
Welcome Home Brother Larry and may you spend some well deserve time with your wife and family. I must say this knowing there are ‘fault finders’ and ‘heresy hunters’ reading my blog, we do NOT get arrested to sue cities. We do not make our house payment with money from lawsuits.
We will use lawyers that will get paid from the city after we win in court but we do not do this for gain. All we want is our God given right on that sidewalk, which is paid for by the blood of our military.
“And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak”
Ephesians 6:19-20
After getting arrested about 7 times in two years Joshua and Jeremy De Los Santos won their case against the City of Roswell New Mexico for preaching in public and the legal team they used was the American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico.
In every case, the charges against the plaintiffs were either dropped, dismissed by a court of law, or overturned as unconstitutional, yet the police still arrested the Brothers and warned them of more arrests if they continue to preach on the sidewalk.
The ACLU settled its lawsuit against the City of Roswell, NM alleging that police officers repeatedly violated the First Amendment free speech rights of two local street preachers. The De Los Santos brothers are members of the Old Paths Baptist Church in Roswell, where Joshua is the pastor. Both believe they have a duty to preach the Gospel in public, and both regularly do so. However, the Roswell Police Department (RPD) arrested both brothers multiple times for expressing their sincerely held religious beliefs in public, as is their right under the First Amendment.
Under the terms of the settlement, the City of Roswell will pay $97,000 in compensatory and punitive damages.
“This settlement is a significant victory for free speech in New Mexico,” said ACLU-NM Executive Director Peter Simonson. “Police officers may disagree with the content of your speech, but that does not give them the right to arrest you. Today we affirm the right of every person to express their opinions even unpopular opinions without fear of arrest or harassment by the government.”
The De Los Santos brothers alleged that the Roswell police falsely arrested them without probable cause for exercising their First Amendment right to Free Speech on public property. The brothers also claim that RPD confiscated phones, cameras, camcorders and a bullhorn, some of which were never returned. Jeremy De Los Santos also claimed that RPD officers used excessive force on two occasions.
“This settlement sends a strong message to police departments everywhere that you cannot target people for arrest or harassment simply for lawfully expressing their religious beliefs in public,” said Jeremy De Los Santos.
“The right to free speech is one of our most precious freedoms, and today that freedom has been upheld.” God bless you men as we have one down and many more to go.
The story made the local nightly news
Jesus said to shine your light and street preacher Adrian is doing just that in ‘sin city’ Las Vegas as he preaches on the sidewalk and uses his vehicle as a 55MPH tract
“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”
Proverbs 3:6
This SUV has a Christianize auto wrap on it
Tell me you cannot see automobile driving down the road and he even has a few websites to anyone needing a Bible or more information
It’s a family affair
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it”
Proverb 22:6
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid”
Matthew 5:14
Is your LIGHT hiding and are you a beacon within your community, glowing the glory of God before this dark world. IF not for Heaven’s sake do so.
