Don't fear the preacher
“Fall has come. With it comes cooler temperatures, falling leaves, and — if last week is any indication — those old friends of the student body: campus preachers. In the last week they’ve reappeared, haunting the area outside Dale Hall, informing us that Satan pursues our souls and that most of us are probably going to hell…..”

Boise State is no place for hate
“….Tensions were high Friday afternoon when a group of 150 to 200 students and a traveling preacher met on the Quad – so much so, that police were called in to mediate. Idaho native Shawn Holes – or “Shawn the Baptist” as he calls himself – travels to college campuses across the country on a mission to convert others to Christianity…..”

CSU student's sweet iHome jams are my savior, not the Plaza preachers
“….On the same day I saw stereo guy, I later walked through the Plaza and became surrounded by the jarring, “you’re going to hell unless you’ve accepted Jesus!” The preachers’ goal (I’m assuming) of being on campus is to convert CSU students over to their own Christian views, since they think our campus is rife with sinners and delinquents –– but all they’re really doing is eliciting anger and a complete distaste for the beliefs they’re trying to spread……”

GJPD called to student/preacher confrontation at CMU
“…..Students say while sounding off about sinning and repenting, he and his team made several remarks that were sexist, racist, homophobic, and condemning of other religions. "One girl was trying to ask one of the men a question and he said you're a woman, you need to be silent," said Caleb Ferganchick, a CMU student. "Then he went on to explain that women are inferior to men." "He was condemning Catholics, saying they're wicked, that they're just as bad as rapists," said Jean-Marie Gargan, another CMU student……”

A Culture Clash On Campus
“…..The preachers would hold up signs saying that the “secular humanists” would eventually serve as Satan’s kindling lest they changed their un-Christianly ways, and student representatives from the gay rights and skeptics clubs would hold up poster boards denouncing the preachers for being homophobic, misogynistic and culturally ignorant…..”

UGAtheists fight Tate preacher with kittens, candy
“…..McCreary, who lives in Winder, preaches regularly at the University in Tate Plaza as well as at sporting events and downtown. He often carries a cross with him with the words “ARE YOU READY” printed on it. “I’m just trying to lift up my voice — I mean I could yell a lot louder if I wanted to but I’m just trying to lift up my voice to be heard because there’s thousands of people that pass through the Tate center every day,” McCreary said. “I preach the message to everyone and the ones who God calls will come……..”

Preacher, students clash on faith
"….Brother Jed Smock is head of a group called Campus Ministry USA and has traveled to major universities for 37 years. He uses the approach of "confrontational ministry" to grab the attention of students and bring them to Christ. "My main goal is to call students to turn away from sin and follow the Lord, Jesus Christ," Smock said. "We want to warn the wicked to flee from the wrath and to come to the everlasting, ever-loving arms of Jesus Christ." UW Oshkosh student Tom Bricco said he was taken aback by the harshness of Smock's approach….”

Latter-day Saints launch "I'm a Mormon" ad campaign
“….Christian street preachers protest as as faithful Mormons make their way to the conference center for the fifth session of the 181st Semiannual General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah, October 2, 2011…..”

Mall preachers fight could go to High Court
“……A political fight has erupted over action taken against a group of Adelaide street preachers and there are plans to take the matter to the High Court. The South Australian Government has accused the Opposition of leaving Adelaide City Council uncertain of its powers to control activities in Rundle Mall in the city…..”

Christian street preacher told gay couple to ‘burn in hell’
“…..A Christian street preacher has appeared in court charged with verbally abusing a gay couple. Michael Overd, 47, from Creech St Michael in Somerset, allegedly told the men that they were “evil” and would “burn in hell”. He appeared at Taunton Deane magistrates’ court and denies two charges under the public order act of intentionally causing “alarm or distress”.

Street preacher in court after telling gay couple they are “evil people”
“….A street preacher from Somerset repeatedly told a gay couple they were “evil people” and that gays would “burn in hell” as they walked past him in a busy street, a court has been told…..”

Government consults on removing ‘insulting’ speech from public order laws
“……The law has been used to arrest Christian street preachers who deliver anti-gay sermons, such as Cumbrian preacher Dale McAlpine, who later won £7,000 compensation for wrongful arrest. It has also been used against Muslim extremists who have called British soldiers “terrorists” and “butchers of Basra”……”

As Open Air Preachers we should be able to gather and maintain a crowd. Those crowds come to listen or ask questions, BUT ALWAYS REMEMBER NEVER TRUST A CROWD. Remember the same crowd that cried, saying “Hosanna to the Son of David, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest” was the same crowd that shouted “free Barabbas crucify Jesus” the following day.

One might get a crowd to gather, or have that laugh at something said, then get that same group angry and within time even argue with themselves or turn on you, all within 2.5 seconds.

Rule 1: trust a crowd as far a you can toss them.

We find multitudes in the Bible that sat and listen to preaching, others that debated or turned on each other, some wanted to kill the preacher, or the crowd turned into a mob which caused chaos and confusion in a city and even had the soldiers come in to settle everyone down.

One thing you should be aware of is you will most likely be hated with crowds if you follow the Biblical instruction:
“They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly”
If you have no REBUKE and TRUTH in your message you will never be hated by a crowd.

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men”

We live in a society where ‘salt’ is considered unhealthy as in our Christian faith when proclaimed in public. The main purpose for “SALT” is to preserve and we as believers must safeguard the standard of a holy God in this wicked theater we live in. We must not lose the flavor even if many trampled underfoot and consider it worthless.

Salt can be used for a number of things or can be symbolic for us the believer:
SALT can be to preserve, tempering of steel, used in fertilizers and weed killers. For the Body God created; salt is most effective in stabilizing irregular heartbeats and, Contrary to the misconception that it causes high blood pressure, it is actually essential for the regulation of blood pressure. Salt is vital to the extraction of excess acidity from the cells in the body, particularly the brain cells. Crucial for balancing the sugar levels in the blood; a needed element in diabetics. Essential for the generation of hydroelectric energy in cells in the body. It is used for local power generation at the sites of energy need by the cells. Needed for the nerve cells' and information processing all the time that the brain cells work, from the moment of conception to death. Too little salt in the diet can lead to muscle cramps, dizziness, or electrolyte disturbance.
Did I miss anything that ‘salt can be used for?

The Old Testament mentions ‘salt’ thirty-five times and New Testament we find the word ‘salt’ in six verses. Has the Church you’ve attended preserve the Word of God?

"let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt"
(Colossians 4:6).
