Before I get to the Hollywood report, I hope everyone had a GREAT Thanksgiving with family. Now as a minority member myself, I am very thankful for much and I wish to publicly THANK the WHITE CHRISTIAN EUROPEAN MALE for coming to America and taking this land.
For we were not utilizing the land anyway, we did not use its resources and the blessing of God was nowhere to be found on this soil. I am also very thankful the Pilgrims and Native Americans were neither vegetarians nor vegans, but enjoyed a good dead carcass. If it were not for the WHITE CHRISTIAN EUROPEAN MALE, I would not have my faith in Jesus, the Bible, my travels, own a business, drive nice cars, own a home and have a bank account. I credit the WHITE CHRISTIAN EUROPEAN MALE for my education, laws of the land, freedom of speech, my religious freedom and my right to vote and own a gun. Unlike my ancient ancestors the WHITE CHRISTIAN EUROPEAN MALE loved its neighbor and allowed me taste of capitalism and the opportunity to be a productive citizen, not to mention devoting a whole day to spend with my immediate family on Thanksgiving day and eating a bird. So as a card carrying minority, I THANK the WHITE CHRISTIAN EUROPEAN MALE.
Lastly, let us not forget our military overseas and let us be thankful they volunteered to serve our country in this capacity, to them we should be very appreciative.
This was my first Thanksgiving without both my mother and father, as we thanked God for such parents that instilled the faith of God in both my brothers and sisters. I am indeed thankful for both my earthly family and eternal family.
Here is a history lesson on Thanksgiving Day:
This historic proclamation was issued by George Washington during his first year as President. It sets aside Thursday, November 26 as "A Day of Publick Thanksgiving and Prayer." Signed by Washington on October 3, 1789 and entitled "General Thanksgiving," the decree appointed the day "to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God."
While there were Thanksgiving observances in America both before and after Washington's proclamation, this represents the first to be so designated by the new national government and so much for the separation of Church and State.
After their first harvest, the colonists of the Plymouth Plantation held a celebration of food and feasting in the fall of 1621. Indian chiefs of Massassoit, Squanto and Samoset joined in the celebration with ninety of their men in the three-day eat fest, no doubt eating dead carcasses and evangelizing the natives.
The first recorded Thanksgiving observance was held on June 29, 1671 at Charlestown, Massachusetts by proclamation of the town's governing council. No doubt the Kennedy’s nor the ACLU were around.
During the 1700s, it was common practice for individual colonies to observe days of thanksgiving throughout each year. A Thanksgiving Day two hundred years ago was a day set aside for prayer and fasting, not a day marked by plentiful food and drink as is today's custom. Later in the 18th century each of the states periodically would designate a day of thanksgiving in honor of a military victory, an adoption of a state constitution or an exceptionally bountiful crop. It seemed people were Thankful for much and gave God credit rather than government. Such a Thanksgiving Day celebration was held in December of 1777 by the colonies nationwide, commemorating the surrender of British General Burgoyne at Saratoga. Imagine that, thanking God that we defeated our enemy.
Later, on October 3, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln issued a proclamation calling for the observance of the fourth Tuesday of November as a national holiday. In 1939, President Franklin D. Roosevelt moved the holiday to the third Thursday of November (to extend the Christmas shopping season and boost the economy). After a storm of protest, Roosevelt changed the holiday again in 1941 to the fourth Thursday in November, where it stands today.
Now let us fast forward to the year 2010 where the first Sunday after Thanksgiving is the annual ‘Hollywood Christmas parade’ as the parade route will have Hollywood’s film, TV and music celebrities riding in the back of convertibles as little gods waving to the common folks of Tinsel town. Along with all the other bells and whistles of any big parade, the crowd of 60,000 watched marching bands, dancing horses and giant balloons on Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards.
This year’s parade the temperature was cold and windy so the crowds on the sidewalk were not as thick as previous years. Mark and I stood towards the end of the route to get the full attention of the celebrities driving by and that we did. However just before the parade started a bike officer from LAPD said we needed to move on the sidewalk, then proceeded to tell Mark that he could not carry his banner as the poles needed to be ¾ inch in diameter. And they are just that size, but because WE did not have a tape measurer to prove it, those banner poles were deemed illegal. We were told the burden of proof was on us and we failed. Then he said the banner was too high and too wide and refused to give us any city codes we were violating. He was more than willing to cite Mark, so Mark decided to go back to the vehicle and get an extra sandwich sign I took. Our main priority was not to argue the First Amendment but to preach a message to these Hollywood gods and so we were not side tracked but kept to plan ‘A’.
Larry King was the Grand Marshall this year, as I did not recognize him. He looked like death rolled up in a sweater and scarf. I’ve preached to Larry twice, up close in the past 10 years and he looked dead back then. I guess who ever pats make-up on him for his Larry King show should win an Academy Award for making him look as if he is part of the living. Many of these celebrities in the parade I did not recognize but addressed each one personally from the name tag outside their vehicles. Many responded and a few lifted up their nose at us, as I preached why we have a pagan holiday called Christmas.
For the record, I do not believe that Jesus was born on December 25 and I understand the pagan roots for the date. However it is good for a nation to set one day aside and honor the birth of our savior, be it in December or April or July. I can work with that, so I exhorted all that the real story for this event was found in Luke chapter 2. I warned that santa clause does not know if you’ve been good or bad, but God does…..so be good for heaven’s sake!
Now for the Street Preachers Hollywood Award
The biggest Hollywood ‘Snob Award’ goes to…….the envelope please…..it’s a tie……between Dick Van Dyke and actress Donna Mills, who were too good for the Gospel and both their pictures need to be submitted to Webster’s Dictionary to be placed under the word “Pompous.”
The ‘Loudest Response Award’ goes to Actor Danny Trejo, who raised his hands yelling something at me, but I could not understand anything he bellowed.
And the ‘Best Celebrity Response’ to the Word of God is…..drum roll please……the winner is…….believe it or not…..Rip Taylor. I must confess, he did raise his hands and acknowledge Jesus as the reason for the season with great joy.
At the end of the parade, came the liar or better known as santa, I rebuked him for getting more credit than Jesus, as I preached “humbug on santa.” Even santa was provoked to respond to me and acknowledge Jesus as the Christ with his microphone as he passed us. After the parade we exhorted the families walking on the sidewalk to the ‘GIFT’ that keeps on giving, God’s GIFT to mankind of eternal life through Jesus Christ. We did not address homosexuality, drunkenness, fornication or God hating sin and putting His creation into hellfire. The theme we preached was Jesus, born of a virgin, born in a manger, King, Messiah and Savior, the Christ (as not every preach is a Mardi Gras.)
BE ADVISED SAINTS, THIS IS COMING TO A CITY NEAR YOU!
WHEN THE BIBLE REMINDS US TO REMEMBER THOSE IN PRISON, IT IS WRITTEN NOT TO FORGET THOSE IN JAIL FOR THE FAITH AND NOT NECESSARILY VISITING THE MURDER OR RAPIST BUT THE SAINT.
“Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body” –Hebrews 13:13
YET MONDERN CHRISTIANITY DOES NOT RECOGNIZE A STREET PREACHER GETTING ARRESTED AS PERSECUTION OR WITHIN THE BIBLICAL METHOD FOR PROCLAIMING THE WORD OF GOD IN PUBLIC.
DO THEY EVEN READ THE SAME HOLY BIBLE?
1) MOST OLD TESTAMENT STREET PREACHERS WERE JAILED FOR THEIR WORDS.
2) JOHN THE BAPTIST WAS SENT TO PRISON FOR REBUKING THE KING AND LOST HIS HEAD WHILE IN PRISON.
3) JESUS FOREWARNED HIS DISCIPLES OF BEING FALSELY ACCUSED AND STANDING BEFORE JUDGES, AS HE HIMSELF WAS JAILED FOR HIS BELIEF AND PUT TO DEATH.
4) THE BOOK OF ACTS IS FILLED WITH EXAMPLES OF THE APOSTLES JAILED FOR THEIR FAITH.
5) MOST OF THE NEW TESTAMENT WAS WRITTEN FROM PRISON CELLS.
6) THE APOSTE JOHN RECEIVED THE BOOK OF REVELATION WHILE BANISHED IN THE ISLAND OF PATMOS.
“The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen” -Colossians 4:18
This past Sunday the brethren from Roswell New Mexico (Brothers Jeremy, Josh, Justin, Rolando, Jimmy, Julio and Caesar) were standing outside of three churches and reproving these believers as per Jeremiah chapter 23 and Matthew 23. They were moved to preach against a J.W.er Church and a Catholic Church before their service began on the sidewalk. Hey, what’s news with that, basic Christianity believes that both religious organizations are heretics or at lease a cult, but would never say it to their face? So Brother Jeremy went out to ‘love thy neighbor’ Sunday morning, 1John 3:18 style and later stood in front of a non denominational church where the pastor and elders came out swinging. The religious brass of this church manifested with cussing as they tried to move the Street Preachers off the sidewalk. Police were called in and after only getting information from the Church, arrested the 3 Street Preachers (Jeremy, Justin and Caesar) for assault and disturbing a religious meeting, the Church service started at 9AM and they were arrested at 8:40AM. How in the Gehenna did they interrupt a religious service?
One member from the church was also arrested after he came out swinging a bat. This was all on video tape; however the police department took the video camera and cell phones as evidence. Oh, did I mention that several officers attend this particular church?
Below is a News clip from KRQE NEWS 13 4PM (on Monday night)
Later that same evening KRQE NEWS 13 DID A FOLLOW-UP REPORT AT 10PM
These men in Roswell are well familiar to the police department, as back on April 16th of this year the police used a sting type operation complete with undercover officers and a cluster of police cars parked nearby to arrest Jeremy preaching on a public sidewalk outside a local bar, and get this…..Jeremy was not the one preaching, he was just holding a sign.
This case is still pending.
Last September, Jeremy and Eddie were preaching outside their Churches parking lot and the police came on their property and arrested them, threatening others believers as well.
This case is going to court
Almost every time these men preach in or around the city of Roswell, the police are called for some bogus reason and these men are threatened with arrest and falsely accused, something tells me they are doing something right.
“For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance” -Hebrews 10:34
