Follow-up on Mardi Gras Report

THE LAST WORD! Mardi Gras 2010

What would motivate me to break the statue of Mary you may ask?
I understand that most if not all evangelical seminars will not encourage this, most if not all Bible colleges would never endorse this and you could bet the farm that Ray Comfort will not sanction this to his generic “have you ever lied” recital.
I did it because the God of the Bible is angry with such idolatry.

Let’s fact it, men of God did some very odd things, like Noah living righteously in a wicked theater and building an ark. Those men preached in a peculiar manner, like Isaiah who walked naked and barefoot, Ezekiel who laid on his right side for 390 days, and then on his left for 30 days, or what about Hosea who was told to marry a whore, oh I’m sure that went over well with the prophet community.
You must understand, this was done on a particular day, in front of the oldest Catholic Church in the United States, before the Arch Bishop in public and after one of his most holy services.
Did this wolf in sheep’s clothing rebuke the congregation of willfully sinning just hours ago?
No, well hath Jeremiah the prophet spoken of these religious leaders that “walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah” and “They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you” Jeremiah 23

Where a faithful Catholic can have forgiveness of sin and they will proudly be humble to walk around for a day with ashes on their face. The only problem is we do not find ashes for the forehead anywhere with the New Testament, not a note to a Church in any Epistle nor an example of the Apostles or bishops marking saints with ashes but I think I have read somewhere about the Blood of Jesus producing forgiveness. Is this a tradition making the word of God of none effect as per Mark 7:13?

And just where do they get those ashes you ask?

No one knows for sure but I think they simply burn all the trash those drunks leave in New Orleans during Mardi Gras and these Catholics just take it home with them unaware?

Ashes will not replace what happened on Calvary and most Christians know this is not Biblical but will ANYONE tell their neighbor? John writes, “My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth” (1John 3:18), so how about showing some LOVE and speaking TRUTH? This is NOT of God and this is what we did on Ash Wednesday.

Now regarding Mary the mother of Jesus, she was indeed blessed among women and used of God to birth the only begotten into the world. After this, she and Joseph lived their lives had other children as found in Mark 6 “Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us?” here the scriptures give names to his brothers.
In another Gospel we read
“And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.” Did Jesus reply and say, “Amen, you are right for she is the Mother of God. Adore Her, built alters to Her and pray to Her for she is the Queen of Heaven and God Bless you for acknowledging that”??? No, “But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it” -Luke 11:27-28

Do we have any examples of Jeremiah or Ezekiel praying to Moses or Zechariah and Malachi praying to David for guidance? Jesus taught us how to pray and to whom to pray as He said “When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name” our prayer is directed to the Father and His Holy Name. We do find examples of Jesus praying to the “Father” and not Obadiah nor Habakkuk. Knowing this, why would Catholics pray to an image of Mary, St. Jude or St. Anthony and would God honor those prayers?

The first two of the Ten Commandments deal with this very topic.
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me”

“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God”

NO other gods, NO graven images, NO bowing down, NO serving them……need I say more?
Why pray to graven image when we are told to say “Our Father” and pray in the Name of Jesus?

Did you know that the Roman Catholic Church have their own version of the Ten Commandments, and not only changed the fourth Commandment, which is why most Churches now worship on Sunday, but they also deleted the second Commandment on idolatry? For detailed information see the Roman Catholic Version of the Ten Commandments. With the second Commandment against MAKING graven images omitted, this leaves a problem of only having 9 Commandments. So they resolve this problem by splitting the tenth Commandment into 9 and 10. That is (9) you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. (10) You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods.

This was done no doubt to worship these man made figures, and do we have any proof that Mary looks like these images? No, therefore it is a false representation.
Do Roman Catholics really worship Mary? Well, if you ask them they will most likely tell you “No” but walk into any Catholic Church and you will find statues of Mary, complete with an alter, pads to knee down and rows of candles to light as you pray and adore her.

The Bible says “Kiss the Son, lest he be angry” –Psalms 2:12
Kiss the Son, adore the Son, Worship the Son, not an statue.
Still in denial, what about t statue of St Peter in St Peters Cathedral, This13th century statue has had its foot kissed away and replaced because of the multitude that have bowed down to this bronze image kissing the feet (see photos below).

“Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and MAKE you a GRAVEN IMAGE, the similitude of ANY FIGURE, the likeness of MALE or FEMALE.”
-Deuteronomy 4:16
“You shall make you NO IDOLS nor GRAVEN IMAGE. Neither rear you up a STANDING IMAGE. Neither shall ye set up any IMAGE OF STONE in your land to bow down unto it.”
-Leviticus 26:1

The Oxford dictionary defines an idol as: “An image used as an object of worship. A person or thing that is the object of excessive devotion”
People can idolize cars, jobs, sports, money almost anything but these verses are a direct result of bowing down to images as a form of worship. God HATES this, this is liken to a tree hugger praying to a tree, thinking that tree has a soul.

“Neither shalt thou SET thee UP ANY IMAGE: which the Lord thy God HATES”
-Deuteronomy 16:22

We find numerous examples of men tearing down altars in the Bible, dashing them into pieces, breaking pillars, burning the groves, chopping down their carved images of their gods, crushing and destroying the idol altars because God HATES it so.

“But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves”
Ex 34:13

“And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place”
Deut. 12: 3

“For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images”
2Chr. 34:3-7

“He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brazen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan”
2Ki. 18:4

“And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it: pole dedicated to the goddess Asherah that is next to it……And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was cast down, and the grove was cut down that was by it, and the second bullock was offered upon the altar that was built. And they said one to another, Who hath done this thing?”
Judges 6:25-29

Easton's Bible Dictionary defines the word “grove”
Hebrews `asherah, properly a wooden image, or a pillar representing Ashtoreth, a sensual Canaanitish goddess, probably usually set up in a grove
(2 Kings 21:7; 23:4). In the Revised Version the word "Asherah" (q.v.) is introduced as a proper noun, the name of the wooden symbol of a goddess, with the plurals Asherim (Exodus 34:13) and Asheroth (Judges 3:13). In the earliest times groves are mentioned in connection with religious worship. The heathen consecrated groves to particular gods, and for this reason they were forbidden to the Jews (Jeremiah 17:3; Ezek. 20:28).

“Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images”
Ex 23 24
“CURSED be the man that MAKES ANY GRAVEN or MOLTEN IMAGE, an abomination unto the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place.”
Deut 27:15

Early Christian writers such as Irenaeus, Clement, Cyprian, Athanasius and Jerome wrote strongly AGAINST images, statues and any manner of prayer or veneration regarding them. The Council of Constantinople in 381 A.D. voted unanimously to remove all images of worship from the Churches

John spoke against idolatry
"Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen"
1Jn. 5:21

Paul spoke against idolatry
"Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry"
1Co. 10:14

Habakkuk spoke against idolatry
"What profiteth the graven image that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?"
Hab. 2:18

David spoke against idolatry
"Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands"
Ps. 115:4

Isaiah spoke against idolatry
"They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods"
Is. 42:17

Jeremiah spoke against idolatry
"But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah"
Jer. 2:28

Ezekiel spoke against idolatry
"As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols"
Ezek. 20:39

I do not just preach against the Catholic Church, see photos below:
1) While preaching to the Hare Krishna’s I dressed as their holy cow
2) I was reproving a Baptist convention
3) I was preaching in front of a mosque during one of their holy days
4) Rebuking the Episcopal Church from having female bishops and allowing sodomites in their pulpits
5) Preaching to the Mormons I’ve been known to wave their holy underwear and drag their book of Mormon on the sidewalk outside their Salt Lake City Temple

I’ve preached to Jews on passover in front of their temples, Dalai Lama, J.W. conventions, Moonies, Farrakhan, Benny Hin, gurus, weird cults and more, for we have a message to them all.
